LiveVowels — тренажёр гласных. Здесь описано, какие данные программа хранит, где и зачем.
Без входа
Если вы не вошли, всё, что вы делаете в программе, хранится только в вашем браузере: люди, наборы гласных, записи, история упражнений и настройки. На сервер ничего из этого не отправляется. Сервер только отвечает, вошли вы или нет. Если очистить данные сайта в браузере, эти данные пропадут.
После входа
Войти можно через Google или GitHub. Сервер получает от них номер вашей учётной записи и имя из профиля. Номер учётной записи сервер не хранит: из него и секретного ключа сервера вычисляется анонимный номер (HMAC-SHA256), и данные хранятся под этим номером. Имя и адрес почты сервер не хранит. Имя лежит только в подписанном cookie вашего браузера, чтобы показать его в меню; cookie живёт 30 дней или до выхода.
Под анонимным номером на сервере хранятся:
- люди, которых вы добавили (имя человека, тип голоса, родные языки и места, если вы их указали);
- наборы гласных, серии и измерения каждой записи (F1, F2, разброс и подобное);
- сами записи (WAV) и кадры анализа к ним;
- история упражнений, продвижение по курсу и объединения наборов;
- время, когда вы согласились с условиями при первом входе, и разрешение показывать ваши наборы другим.
Всё это нужно, чтобы вы видели свои данные на любом устройстве. Данные лежат в Cloudflare (база D1 и хранилище R2).
Показ другим людям
При первом входе программа спрашивает, можно ли показывать ваши наборы другим людям без имени. По умолчанию это разрешено; выключить можно в настройках человека. Если показ включён, другие люди, которые вошли, видят на своём графике точки и центры ваших гласных с подписью вроде «Человек 12, женский — русский: Харьков». В подписи есть только номер, тип голоса, родной язык и название населённого пункта. Других людей никогда не видят: имён людей и наборов, вашего имени и почты, координат мест, времени записей и самих записей.
Удаление
Пункт «Удалить все мои данные на сервере» в меню ≡ сразу удаляет с сервера всех ваших людей, наборы, историю, записи и отметку о согласии. Отдельную запись можно удалить в списке записей: её файл сначала откладывается, чтобы удаление можно было отменить, и удаляется совсем не позже чем через 30 дней. Если место для записей у учётной записи кончилось (2000 записей или 500 МБ), отложенные файлы удаляются сразу.
Карта и названия мест
Места, где человек вырос, выбираются на карте OpenStreetMap. Когда вы ищете место или выбираете его на карте, введённый текст или координаты и язык интерфейса отправляются на сервер nominatim.openstreetmap.org, не чаще одного запроса в секунду; ответы запоминаются в браузере. Части карты загружаются с tile.openstreetmap.org. Эти запросы подчиняются правилам OpenStreetMap Foundation.
Сообщения автору
Пункт «Написать автору» в меню ≡ отправляет ваше сообщение автору программы в Telegram и (если он подключён) в канал Discord. Сервер LiveVowels только передаёт сообщение и ничего из него не сохраняет. Вместе с текстом уходит то, что вы сами указали: контакт для ответа, если вы его ввели, и техническая информация, если вы отметили её (язык интерфейса, вид, версия программы, размер экрана и окна, браузер); перед отправкой она показана в окне сообщения. Номер вашей учётной записи к сообщению не прикладывается. После отправки сообщение хранится в Telegram или Discord, и для него действуют правила этих сервисов.

Чего программа не делает
Программа не показывает рекламу и не передаёт данные третьим лицам, кроме Cloudflare, где она работает, OpenStreetMap для карты и Telegram и Discord для сообщений, которые вы сами отправляете автору.
Счётчик посещений
Сайт считает посещения с помощью Cloudflare Web Analytics. Этот счётчик не ставит cookie и не следит за человеком от сайта к сайту. Автор видит только общие числа: сколько раз открывали страницы, из каких стран и с каких устройств. Ваши записи и гласные в счётчик не попадают.
Privacy
LiveVowels is a vowel trainer. This page says what data it keeps, where and why.
Without signing in
If you are not signed in, everything you do stays in your browser only: people, vowel sets, recordings, practice history and settings. None of it is sent to the server. The server only answers whether you are signed in. Clearing the site's data in the browser removes this data.
After signing in
You can sign in with Google or GitHub. The server receives your account number and the name of your profile from them. The server does not keep the account number: an anonymous id is computed from it and the server's secret key (HMAC-SHA256), and your data is kept under this id. Your name and e-mail are not kept on the server. The name is only in a signed cookie in your browser, to show it in the menu; the cookie lasts 30 days or until you sign out.
Under the anonymous id the server keeps:
- the people you added (the person's name, voice type, native languages and places, if you gave them);
- vowel sets, series and the measurements of each recording (F1, F2, spread and the like);
- the recordings themselves (WAV) and their analysis frames;
- practice history, course progress and unions of sets;
- when you agreed at the first sign-in, and whether your sets may be shown to others.
All of it is there so that you see your data on any device. It is stored at Cloudflare (D1 database and R2 storage).
Showing your sets to others
At the first sign-in the app asks whether your sets may be shown to other people without your name. This is on by default; you can turn it off in the person settings. When it is on, other signed-in people see your vowel points and centres on their chart with a label like «Person 12, female — Russian: Kharkiv». The label holds only a number, the voice type, the native language and the settlement. Others never see the names of people or sets, your name or e-mail, the coordinates of places, the times of recordings, or the recordings themselves.
Deleting
«Delete all my data on the server» in the menu ≡ deletes all your people, sets, history, recordings and the consent record from the server at once. A single recording can be deleted in the list of recordings: its file is first set aside so that the deletion can be undone, and is removed for good within 30 days. When the account has used up its room for recordings (2000 recordings or 500 MB), set-aside files are removed at once.
Map and place names
The places where a person grew up are chosen on an OpenStreetMap map. When you search for a place or choose it on the map, the typed text or the coordinates and the interface language are sent to nominatim.openstreetmap.org, at most one request per second; the answers are kept in the browser. Map tiles are loaded from tile.openstreetmap.org. These requests follow the OpenStreetMap Foundation's policies.
Messages to the author
«Write to the author» in the menu ≡ sends your message to the author's Telegram and, if it is connected, to a Discord channel. The LiveVowels server only passes the message on and keeps nothing of it. Together with the text goes only what you gave yourself: a contact for the answer, if you typed one, and the technical information, if you ticked it (interface language, look, app version, screen and window size, browser); it is shown in the message window before sending. Your account number is not added to the message. Once sent, the message is kept by Telegram or Discord, and their own policies apply to it.
The «Community» links in the menu ≡ lead to a Telegram group and a Discord server, where the policies of those services apply.
What the app does not do
The app shows no ads and gives no data to third parties other than Cloudflare, where it runs, OpenStreetMap for the map, and Telegram and Discord for the messages you send to the author yourself.
Visit counter
The site counts visits with Cloudflare Web Analytics. It sets no cookies and does not follow anyone from site to site. The author sees only totals: how often pages were opened, from which countries and on which devices. Your recordings and vowels are not part of it.
